Richard B. Cheney is an American public servant, businessman, and politician. Cheney a familiar face on the Washington scene of politics and has been under various U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth and as the elected president. Bush chose Cheney on July 20, 2000 as his vice-presidential running mate noting Cheney's judgment and insight. Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of a President, he was a member of Congress and was Secretary of Defense. Cheney is an honest man, who has the respect of both Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney claims that the role he plays in the administration as that of a frank but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney said that when he accepted the Republican nomination for vice president He was excited about working alongside a President who would work with all parties in order to accomplish his goals. He will work with his opponents in trust and respect. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. The family moved from Casper, Wyoming with his family in the year 13 when he turned thirteen. He was raised by his father who was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, directed the soil conservation district in Casper.
